In 2018, longtime online friends Will, an industrial designer and Jason, an optician hadn't met in person untill a mutual friend's wedding. Both were VR users and both had the same problem: Wearing glasses in VR was terrible.
The scratched lenses, the frame pressure and headaches. There had to be a better solution than what was currently available. Jason had some ideas from his many years in the optical industry but hadn't fleshed them out yet.
He approached Will with his ideas and the two agreed to partner up on a solution. Something that was aesthetically pleasing like traditional eyewear but, also ergonomic and keeping the user in mind.

Timeline
2019
Initial Design and Development
R&D started in the later part of 2019 on the Quest 1 and Rift S. Many different designs with quick detach features we're posed but none match the ease of removal and versatility of magnetic attachment.
Easy removal also meant ease of retrieval which seemed to be a issue with several of the units on the market. This is where the tab we include on most of our inserts comes in, giving the user a soft,tactile portion to grab and not come in contact with the lenses.
2020
Company Founding and Kickstarter
Like most companies, the beginning of 2020 brought development to a temporary standstill. The middle of 2020 saw a major ramp up and after many prototypes we're tested, a eventual final production model was agreed upon.
Jason and Will then focused on establishing production and creating a Kickstarter campaign for funding. This campaign unfortunately was not successful but, instead of getting discouraged they persevered on a small budget and reached out to several of the Kickstarters to see if they we're still interested and started Reloptix.com.
2021
Early Success
Design and production was completely home grown the basement of Jason's house becoming a lens lab and Will home office becoming a design studio. From their already established names as VR users in the burgeoning online VR community, word of mouth sales started happening.
VR groups and influencers started to take notice and Reloptix started to make a name for itself in the VR community for its quality and customer service.

People, they are certainly five star quality. This is my second experience dealing with Reloptix lenses, my first were for my Quest2 and they were perfect! Now I've been using my Quest3 prescription lenses for two weeks and I couldn't be more happy with the quality and comfort of the lenses. I definitely recommend these lenses for anyone who requires prescription lenses for their complete vr experience. Well done Reloptix, well done indeed!

The base mount clips in and then they are easy to swap in and out the lenses with the magnet once you get the process down. I wish the focal area on the lenses was larger for my prescription. The mini MIL spec storage case that they come in is overkill and then some. I don't know when I am going to take my lenses out to pack them into this case so they are protected from an explosion. I would have been happy to pay less and have them arrive in a cardboard box or minimalist case.

I received my lense inserts and installed them...by the way installation was very easy. I am so happy with my new lense inserts, I can use my meta quest 3 and I am actually able to see,without glasses. Trying to use my glasses with quest 3 was so bothersome. My only regret is that I didn't know about them and order them sooner. The lense inserts are so clear, they are amazing. What a wonderful company to do business with. You are greatly appreciated.
After using my Quest 3 for a couple of months with my glasses it is so much nicer being able to skip the glasses and enjoy the crystal clear, incredibly comfortable experience with these awesome lenses. They easily pop out when someone else is using the headset and are super easy to pop back in. I should have ordered a set of these day one. Shipping and delivery wasn't the fastest, but now that I have them, I'm super happy!

Great quality, very clear vision, and somewhat easy to install(though installation video is a little confusing since the Pov isn't up close). Nice lil case and fiber cloth to help protect and maintain lenses. Lenses don't stick out too much, pressing against eye lashes!

I ordered prescription lenses for my Quest 2 and they are incredible. Should’ve ordered them years ago. The 3-D is popping, everything is sharper visually, And I’m playing more apps now because I can see. Also, my headset fits better now because I’m not wearing glasses.
The Quest 3 Prescription Lens kit for my headset made a surprising difference in clarity and comfort compared to wearing glass. Not to mention the ease of taking the lens in and out for cleaning. I am truly glad I purchased them

Game changer
This is so cool to be able to play without my glasses.
It take a little time to come to France to it's working soooo gooood and easy to install.
Got a pair of these for my wife as a gift. She has a very high-index prescription, and had to wear her glasses under the Meta Quest 3, which was highly uncomfortable for her. However, these worked beautifully in giving her the refraction she needed, while being light-weight and easy to install. Furthermore, they're very thoughtfully designed, such as the way the bevels are positioned, making it easier to avoid smudging than the alternatives. The magnetic base is also a very nice touch. I tried alternatives before I found this company, but I think my business will go to them from now on.
