In 2018, longtime online friends Will, an industrial designer and Jason, an optician hadn't met in person untill a mutual friend's wedding. Both were VR users and both had the same problem: Wearing glasses in VR was terrible.
The scratched lenses, the frame pressure and headaches. There had to be a better solution than what was currently available. Jason had some ideas from his many years in the optical industry but hadn't fleshed them out yet.
He approached Will with his ideas and the two agreed to partner up on a solution. Something that was aesthetically pleasing like traditional eyewear but, also ergonomic and keeping the user in mind.

Timeline
2019
Initial Design and Development
R&D started in the later part of 2019 on the Quest 1 and Rift S. Many different designs with quick detach features we're posed but none match the ease of removal and versatility of magnetic attachment.
Easy removal also meant ease of retrieval which seemed to be a issue with several of the units on the market. This is where the tab we include on most of our inserts comes in, giving the user a soft,tactile portion to grab and not come in contact with the lenses.
2020
Company Founding and Kickstarter
Like most companies, the beginning of 2020 brought development to a temporary standstill. The middle of 2020 saw a major ramp up and after many prototypes we're tested, a eventual final production model was agreed upon.
Jason and Will then focused on establishing production and creating a Kickstarter campaign for funding. This campaign unfortunately was not successful but, instead of getting discouraged they persevered on a small budget and reached out to several of the Kickstarters to see if they we're still interested and started Reloptix.com.
2021
Early Success
Design and production was completely home grown the basement of Jason's house becoming a lens lab and Will home office becoming a design studio. From their already established names as VR users in the burgeoning online VR community, word of mouth sales started happening.
VR groups and influencers started to take notice and Reloptix started to make a name for itself in the VR community for its quality and customer service.

Lenses are outstanding. Amazing quality. Magnetic system is like a dream. must have option, especially if you are sharing VR with friends or family members. Takes seconds to install or remove them without any risk to damage or even spot lenses. So easy to install and maintain. Of course, I have to mention superb plastic rugged case for storing lenses while they are not installed into VR. Overall - whole set is definitely worth a 10 out of 10 rating for sure.

What a difference
I knew having prescription inserts would make my Quest experience better, but I had no idea how much better it would be. Also, Reloptix made the ordering process extremely simple. Combine that with super fast shipping, and you have no reason not to get these. I have nothing but good things to say about the entire experience.

Strong prescriptions welcome!!
My eyeglass prescriptions are greater than -8.00. I wondered how well Reloptix would do- and how they would keep the lenses light and thin. Well, they did it!! The lenses are great! I use contact lenses most of the time, and they are fine, but I seemed to be able to see in the virtual world slightly better with my glasses. I decided to get these lenses and try them out. They are perfect! Thin, light, and my strong prescription was absolutely no problem. The view is incredibly sharp, the lenses are easy to install and remove, and they are thin and light (see the pictures). These are fine pieces of optics folks! So don’t worry about your strong prescription! Reloptix has you!!

Worth the Price. Easy to install. No discomfort on eyes.
Trying to play VR without my glasses hurts my eyes and gives me a headache. Problem is I can't comfortably wear my glasses and the headset at the same time due to getting a worse headache. This solves both problems. I can see + no headache. I also like how easy it is to install. The only problem I had was one of the latches on the case containing everything broke when i tried to open it... though that's probably just my fault. Was a cake walk to install. I have long eye lashes and the way it sits in the headset, it does not come into contact with my eye lashes at all. Did not come with a manual though so I had to look up how to install them. Video I found was surprisingly easy to follow though so it was an easy install. Its nice to be able to see clearly. Good Product, Worth the Price if you get headaches without your glasses.

Excellent service. great lenses
I ordered two sets of lenses, one for when I wear my contacts (since I am adjusted for MonoVision or blended vision) and one set for when I'm not wearing contacts. I change them in and out depending on my current contact situation. Both sets are perfect! Well done guys!

Great way to acomplish comfort
The inserts completely cnahged my game experience. I normally used glasses under the headset but that was uncomfortable and I couldnt use it for more than half an hour. Now I can use my headset without any pain. Honestly worth the money. Great hand written text that came with the inserts also made my day. Thank you!

Best all-around VR inserts I have found
I have been using Reloptix inserts for several years now. I had them in my G2, both of my valve index, and my quest three. Every set has worked flawlessly and the magnetic mounting system makes it a breeze if you have more than one of the same headset with only one set of inserts. All you need is an extra set of mounts which are sold separately. Their support if there is an issue is flawless, seamless, and always with the customer in mind. It also doesn’t hurt that they’re in the states so turnaround time is much shorter than other providers. I have in the past, and still will recommend them highly to anyone looking for optical inserts for the VR headset.
